be a theatre, music/theatre or music major - ART for College is here
to make your dream a reality. You will receive hands-on training with
professionals who know how to find, develop and hone your audition piece
to show you at your best and to ensure you stand out from the competition.
You will also receive training on what to do, how to do it, what to
wear (and what not to wear), what to say and what NOT to do and say.

GIRL
SCOUT/BOY SCOUT WORKSHOPS Towle Youth Theater Ensemble (TYTE) The Towle Theater is pleased to announce the continuation of a new program within their ever growing education department - Towle Youth Theater Ensemble (TYTE). The concept behind TYTE is to offer membership / participation into the Ensemble, not necessarily a role in each show presented. From all of the talent selected to be in TYTE, we will cast the show and from there, technical, administrative, marketing duties, etc. will be assigned as appropriate. The overall goal is to build a team of theater artists and leaders, not just "stars". It is the goal of this new venture to engage a variety of young people into the overall process of creating theater, not just wanting to be in a particular show. The Towle staff believes that this process will bring more value to the participants, to their creative process and ultimately to the productions. Auditions will be held twice per year about 3 months before each production, where new Ensemble members will be accepted to replace those that have opted or aged out of the program. The Towle will be looking to utilize the students with the most talent, drive, dedication and commitment to the Ensemble as a whole. The Ensemble
will produce/present 2 shows per year - 1 musical in the fall and 1
non-musical in the spring.
UPCOMING
PRODUCTION The Confederate
flag. A historical icon or a racist symbol? This thought-provoking and
gripping play sheds new light on a controversy that continues to divide
our national heart. When Kate's liberal-minded family moves from New
York City's suburbs to a small town outside of Nashville, Kate is convinced
her life is over. Redford, Tennessee, is as Southern as it getsthe
local diner serves grits and sweet tea, country music rules the airwaves
and the Confederate battle flag waves proudly over the courthouse square.
Then she meets the handsome and talented Jackson Redford III, scion
of the town and embodiment of everything Dixie. Jack shows her the beauty
of his Southern roots and Kate begins to appreciate her new home. But
a petition to replace the school's Confederate flag insignia gains Kate's
support, and soon Kate and Jackand their familiesfind themselves
pitted against one another in a bitter controversy: not just about the
flag, but about what it means to be an American. March

It was this much more meaningful that the Towle Theater brought live theater to our school. Pickle Chiffon Pie was an amazing age appropriate production that really entertained our students. They were all engaged and thrilled to be an audience for such a wonderful production. Columbia school thanks the Towle for bringing live theater to our kids." Anthony Salinas, Principal - Columbia Elementary School "I
want to tell you that I loved Pickle Chiffon Pie. I teach kindergarten
and I'm always looking for positive, fun experiences for my little ones.
Pickle Chiffon Pie kept my children interested and excited. It had just
the right mixture of visual wonder and musical delight. It was great
for all ages, but I really appreciate a production that appeals to small
children. Thanks again for the thoroughly enjoying time!" "I
was really impressed with your production of Pickle Chiffon Pie. It
was very entertaining and the students were interested and attentive!!!
Everyone enjoyed the performance. I give it 5 stars."
